Best-in-class AI content design: Prompting, workflows, and responsible use

This 3-hour session will give you a practical, hands-on introduction to working with generative AI (GenAI). You’ll find out what these tools can and can’t do, write prompts that produce useful results, and leave with techniques you can use the same day. No prior experience needed.

The aim is to give you a repeatable way of working with GenAI, so you keep improving long after the session ends. We’ll focus on writing clear prompts that support your research and content work.

By the end of this session, you’ll be able to:

• Explain what GenAI is and where it fits in content design work.
• Write effective prompts using a clear six-part framework.
• Use GenAI to analyze research data and draft content that meets user needs.
• Check and refine the outputs you get back.
• Use GenAI responsibly in your everyday work.

What you’ll need:

To take part, you'll need access to a GenAI tool. A free account will work, but a paid subscription is better, as free accounts have message limits that could interrupt the exercises. ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini all work. If you want to use Microsoft Copilot, you'll need the paid Microsoft 365 Copilot, as the free version won't cover the exercises.
