Context is the new copy: Content design in the age of AI

The UX writer role is undergoing a massive identity shift. With AI now capable of generating endless UI strings in seconds, our value is no longer in the “writing” itself. It is in the context. If AI can write the words, the human must architect the logic, timing, and emotional intelligence that make those words work.

In this session, we’ll move past the fear of being replaced and look at our new mandate: Context Architecture. Drawing from the messy reality of 2026 — where UX, marketing, and strategy titles are blurring — we will explore why the “perfect” string is useless without the right context. We’ll also discuss how to pivot our focus from “making things sound good” to “making things make sense” within a complex, automated product ecosystem.

In this session, you’ll learn:

  • How to spot where AI-generated copy fails due to a lack of situational or technical awareness.
  • A framework for deciding where a human’s context architecture is required versus where AI-generated strings are good enough.
  • How to build a context brief that gives AI, or any writer, what it needs to produce copy that works.
  • Strategies for communicating your worth to stakeholders when “writing” is perceived as a commodity.
