Designing consistent experiences with LLMs: Systems thinking for AI-integrated design

AI is shoving its way into design processes, superfast. The good news: AI is just a layer on top of an established system that’s been around since the late 1960s. While it may seem like AI changes everything, the tried-and-tested system of objects, states, and relationships that has carried software development for 75+ years has even more to say about avoiding Franken-products that make no sense at all. In this AI-atmosphere, systems thinking is no longer a niche nice-to-have; it’s mandatory. Especially considering how almost half of hiring managers rank it in their top desired skills for new hires.

In this intensive session, you’ll learn:

  • Foundational systems thinking concepts (specifically representation and objects).
  • How AI is simply an abstraction over a 75-year-old system that likely won’t change even as technology on top of it changes.
  • How we can use this knowledge in AI-integrated design to improve our processes, systems, and designs.

What you’ll need:

To participate, you’ll need access to your preferred AI tool. Dave will be using Claude, but this thinking works on any AI tool.
