About Button
Button content design events and community resources help practitioners grow in their careers. Through our annual conference, hands-on workshops, and free watch parties, Button creates space for learning, connection, and thoughtful conversation about the role of content in products and organizations.

A year-round space for content design
Button is more than a conference. It’s a year-round space for learning, conversation, and connection.
Across all our events, we focus on practical, thoughtful content design—work that balances user needs, business realities, ethics, and long-term impact. We look for ideas grounded in lived experience and honest about constraints, not hype or shortcuts.
Button brings together content designers, UX writers, content strategists, and adjacent practitioners at all stages of their careers—from those entering the field to experienced leaders shaping its future.
Built for the content design community
Button was created for people doing the work day to day—navigating complex organizations, advocating for users, collaborating across disciplines, and pushing for better outcomes through content.
Our events bring together content designers, UX writers, content strategists, and adjacent practitioners at all stages of their careers, from those just entering the field to experienced leaders shaping its future. Button is practitioner-led, community-focused, and grounded in real-world experience.
Since our inaugural virtual conference in 2020, we’ve welcomed content designers at different career stages, across industries, and from all corners of the world.

The people behind Button

Button was founded by Kristina Halvorson, whose perspective and experience continue to inform Button’s approach to conference programming.
Button is produced by Launchpad Conferences, an independent event production studio owned and operated by Amy Pletch and Sean Tubridy.
Programming Board
The Button Programming Board brings together content design leaders who help shape Button’s events by reviewing speaker submissions, surfacing emerging topics, and offering strategic guidance.
Everyone is welcome here.
We’re committed to hosting friendly, welcoming events that are accessible to everyone.
The Button Equity Scholarship program allows us to expand conference attendance to people whose experiences are marginalized due to systemic oppression and exclusion. This program not only creates a more diverse conference, but it also directly shapes our field of practice to reflect more experiences and perspectives.
In addition, we hold all attendees, speakers, sponsors, and staff to a code of conduct that ensures a safe and inclusive experience during the event.
Join us.
Whether you’re attending Button for the first time or returning year after year, we’re glad you’re here.
