You’re invited to a special Button event!

  • Tune in for a live conversation with content design experts
  • Participate in Q&A with the speakers
  • Chat with fellow attendees in Zoom as we go

As we build AI-first design system tools and processes, we regret to inform you: your human brain is still essential. AI can generate and accelerate, but it doesn’t necessarily exercise judgement, understand context, or feel empathy. And it turns out that the products and experiences we build depend on all these things.

Join host Torrey Podmajersky and guest speakers Keri Maijala and Cindy Xiong from the LinkedIn Content/Conversation Design team for a chat about how they’re designing for human agency and autonomy as a feature, not a bug.

This event will be recorded and shared with registered attendees after the event.

Keri Maijala has been creating and organizing clear, relevant content for humans for almost 20 years. Right now, she’s leading the Content/Conversation Design team at LinkedIn, digging into organization design, systems thinking, and what it means to be a leader in an AI-first world.

In her non-professional time, she’s hanging out with her husband and Pomeranian in Santa Cruz, CA, and trying to figure out how to sneak roller skates into Disneyland.

Cindy Xiong is a content designer who loves turning messy copy problems into systems. Based in NYC, she’s currently building AI-powered tools that help teams write clear, consistent product copy at scale. When not shipping agentic tools, Cindy enjoys baking bread and doting on cats.

Torrey Podmajersky specializes in UX content for global organizations, having previously worked at Xbox, Windows, Google, and Offerup. She authored Strategic Writing for UX (O’Reilly Media, 2019). She mentors, teaches, and speaks about UX content. In her free time, she enjoys kayaking, art, and spending time with her husband and cats at their Puget Sound home.
