If you want to grow your content design career, it’s not enough to just be great at the craft. You also need to understand how your work connects to the business and supports a stronger bottom line. Most importantly, you need to make sure senior leaders are aware of that positive impact.
But plenty of content designers secretly find business and financial terminology unfamiliar and intimidating. The good news is that with some rapid education and context, you’ll find it clear and empowering — which can, in turn, increase your confidence and impact at work overnight.
In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to understand your company’s business model, competitive and financial landscape, and internal operating structure. Most importantly, you’ll learn how to connect content design work to tangible business outcomes without compromising your values or your craft. You’ll walk away with new skills, language, and confidence to contribute to larger conversations about the impact content design has on business outcomes.
Together, we will:
- Understand your unique strengths as a content designer—and why business fluency is part of your power.
- Break down business models, financial reports, and company goals in plain language.
- Learn how to demonstrate how content design helps drive revenue, reduce costs, and streamline operations.
- Discover who to connect with across the business to boost your impact — from engineering to internal comms to finance.
- Explore how to apply these skills even if you’re between jobs or exploring new opportunities.
